David Ellis

Vendor

David Ellis was Two Way Street’s first street vendor. David has been a street performer for over a year – first setting foot on the corner of Central Ave. and Fourth St. on Mother’s Day of 2016. David performs a wide variety of poetry about his experiences living on the streets, establishing relationships with small local business owners, and bringing smiles to passerbys’ faces. David also draws and paints during his free time ad hopes to one day start his own small business.

Marge Pettit

Vendor

Marge has been a vendor with Two Way Street since since Issue 2. You can usually find her near the Kimo Theater in Downtown. Most recently,
she found affordable housing!
Now, she has shared her artistic talent with the world, and has written a book about her life experiences, entitled I Don’t Make Round Tortillas.

It has been almost 2 years since I first caught wind of the street paper movement while studying City Planning at the University of New Mexico. After attending the 2015 International Network of Street Paper Summit in Seattle, I knew that Albuquerque’s original street paper launched in 1990 had to be revived.
